How to Draw Boobs by ragingtofu How to Draw Boobs by ragingtofu
Hey! Know what you should do right now? Check out this awesome guide made by my friend ~Sapphirelullaby on how to draw the female anatomy! Click the link! Do it now! [link]

Thank you so much for reading! I hope this guide has helped you! I find myself with very little time lately to personally thank all the people who favorite / comment on this, so please accept my thanks in advance!

NOTE: If the image doesn't load, resizes so you can't read it, etc., use the "download" link on the right side for the full image.

(A guide to drawing boobs by someone who doesn't have them... but a whole lot of experience drawing them.)

Well, here goes nothing.

A full page and two days longer than I initially expected, a (sort-of) definitive guide to drawing the female breasts. A couple of notes:

Aside from stitching the images together, this entire guide was made in Manga Studio Debut 3.0.

It's also worth noting that I pilfered images from myself for one or two of the sketches to fill space, because I'm lazy.

The original was two pages, and really, the bottom half of the (original) first page was just filler. So this guide essentially doubled (fuzzy math) in the last two days.

One styrofoam box of Chinese food gave it's life to make this happen. Teryaki and Honey Sesame chicken with chicken fried rice. You will be missed.

No catgirls were harmed in the making of this guide.

One final note: Part of the reason I made this was to get over an art block. It seems to have worked, but it also gave me a chance to try some new styles for hair, eyes, and drawing in general. I even learned a few things, like an after-school special. Hopefully it helps you just as much as it helped me.

Also, I'd like to thank the Circle, whom without which none of this would be possible. Thanks Circle! We did it!

If you like this, comment! Favorite! Watch! Visit my page! The word "shame" doesn't exist in my lexicon.

Totally not here for another reason. Awesome tutorial though, will be visiting, and definitely not for more than one reason.

I suppose this works for anime or fantasy-style drawings, but real boobs don't actually work like that. They're subject to gravity, require support (they're heavier than they look; just ask a girl who's running [then again maybe don't]). Without support, they'll sag. They contain elastin and ligaments so their consistency is more solid, so if you rested them on a person's head, the probably wouldn't spread over to cover them; they'd actually hold their shape a little more.
Also, clothing doesn't cling to boobs like it's vacuum sealed on. Also, in real life, boobs aren't that shiny.
I appreciate the effort in helping others improve their art, but your guide is in no way definitive (actually, it may be, but not for realistic drawings). If you want something more realistic, I'd suggest googling bra images :\

No need for the flame shield - I appreciate thoughtful criticism, particularly on a site where most comments are "your face is dumb and also a butt."

But anyways, I made this years ago and at this point, I know I can do better. That said, it wasn't meant to be a definitive guide, really, but it's been so long since I looked at this that I probably said something out of line that would suggest that! It certainly wasn't designed to be that realistic, though I can see how it'd give off the wrong impression. You have a lot of valid points, much of which I've learned about between the time I made this and now, not to mention I've received plenty of criticism both here and from artistic friends, as well.  It's honestly something I'd like to revisit some day, given time, because I really have learned quite a bit about anatomy, as well as things that are decidedly lacking in this silly little guide. Granted, it still probably won't be terribly realistic, though the next go around I'll spend a bit more time explaining that.

I just found your guide and as someone who just started drawing agian for the first time in what I feel is a million years I was never good at it but wish to become good at it... my fiance said when she saw one of the other guides on drawing said "You just want to draw porn" I was like So? haha but enough about that I've always enjoyed anime and seeing something nice and helpful like this is really nice, I thank you!
